“I chose to leave my neighborhood of 23 years to move to Arcadia Gardens, so I could have an active life filled with new friends and adventures.  This pandemic brought it front and center that I need to stay active and not just sit in my home. I have a neuromuscular disease, and sitting at home for 10 months has hastened the progression of my disease. When I saw an ad on Facebook in December, I quickly became intrigued with this community.

 

Within two weeks, I put a deposit down on an apartment and have not looked back. I originally was going to rent my current home, but when I attended a luncheon for prospective residents as an ambassador, I saw the benefits of renting vs owning. I don't want the hassles of being a landlord. My homeowners insurance just went up by 50% in one year. My home is now up for sale, and when I move in September, I won't have a worry in the world. All of the people associated with Arcadia Gardens have been so friendly, helpful and downright FUN! The thing that impressed me the most is when I went to an informational luncheon, I mentioned that I had just been at a pool that had two railings about 3 feet apart going into the pool. It made it so much easier for me to walk in and out of the pool. The next day I called Pamela, the leasing agent, to say how wonderful it was to meet the corporate people from NY. The property manager, Shannon, shouted that the pool would now have two railings instead of one! It literally brought tears to my eyes knowing they listened to me and made accommodations that would not only benefit me, but others with mobility issues, too.

 

Through Facebook and the Grand Opening of the Clubhouse, I have met some of my future neighbors and am excited for the wonderful lifestyle we'll have at Arcadia Gardens. Jaime, the Lifestyle Coordinator, has some awesome activities planned before we even move in!  Yes, I want to be pampered and live a luxurious life in my retirement. I am so looking forward to moving in and jumping right into an active, fun community. No one needs to sit at home during these trying times. A study by Brigham Young on the factors that contribute to a long life had diet & exercise as #s 9 & 10. Getting a flu shot, stopping excessive drinking and smoking were up there, but it was Close Relationships and Social Integration that were the top two factors. I want to live a long life filled with wonderful friends and neighbors at Arcadia Gardens.  Won't you join me for the time of your life?”
